The MGTS (known to DoD clients as "FlexTrain") is a rapidly deployable, GPS-based instrumentation system. It can be customized for your specific collective training, test and evaluation, policy analysis, or performance assessment. The system can track and record event data for up to 65,000 entities, allowing leadership teams to monitor events in real time and replay scenarios in instrumented after-action reviews.
The MGTS has been successfully deployed in 60 km by 100 km areas and is compatible with all fielded US Multiple Instrumented Laser Engagement Systems (MILES).

MGTS System Key Components
Our ruggedized tracking devices can be worn by personnel or mounted to tactical and non-tactical vehicles. They transmit time-space-position information (TSPI) and report MILES-based real-time casualty assessment (RTCA) data over our robust networks. Our smallest tracking device, known as the FREDI-2, is the size of a standard military AN/PRC-148 Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio (MBITR).
Upon request, we can enhance our tracking devices by providing extended batteries, alternate frequency modules, and local data storage modules.
The MGTS can be deployed using man-portable towers, mobile relay towers, or existing tower infrastructure. Prior to deploying the system, we conduct a thorough site survey to determine optimal tower placement and configuration. Our field-proven tower deployment protocols ensure reliable radio frequency communications coverage across any terrain. For the most remote tower locations, we have implemented a solar power system, greatly enhancing the network’s rugged extensibility.
We provide VHF and UHF handheld voice communications systems in any terrain. Our field teams regularly establish and maintain voice nets to support more than 250 users across 5 spectra.
The MGTS system supports synchronized playback of handheld video recordings, to streamline instrumented after-action review preparation and execution. Video is integrated into the ORION Viewer, where it is synchronized with tracking data and displayed in a single interface. This allows users to jump to specific moments in time and instantly see all video recordings superimposed over player locations.

The ORION Viewer is our user interface for both real-time monitoring and instrumented after-action reviews (I-AARs). It is capable of displaying more than 65,000 individual entities in a 3D environment with embedded video and audio feeds. Participant tracking can be displayed in high fidelity, with update rates as frequent as every 0.5 seconds.
ORION organizes all recorded data on a timeline, streamlining I-AAR preparation and operation. It can send and display data from other systems, including live, virtual, and constructive inputs.
Wrap up your training day or event in one of our mobile after-action review centers (MAARCs). MAARCs are mil-spec mobile shelters, fully equipped with all equipment required for instrumented after-action reviews. All MAARCs are fully self-sufficient and operate on generator power. Our field teams regularly install, operate, and remove MAARCs in austere training environments.
Training/Testing as a Service (TaaS) ×
Our Mobile Ground Truth System (MGTS) is available to rent through our Training/Testing as a Service business model. This allows for a la carte pricing to make the most efficient use of your dollar—with no upfront investment.
Before deployment, we customize the mission type, play-box size, terrain, player count, dismounts, and vehicles to fit your needs. Then, we export the MGTS to your operational site and perform continuous sustainment.

System Engineering & Integration
We have multidisciplinary engineering capabilities, ranging from open-source software development to hardware design and field integration. The team has pioneered advancements in live-virtual-constructive (LVC) technology and has been a proud provider of Army National Guard training systems since 1995.
Prototype, Test, and Evaluation
We develop in-house solutions quickly and effectively. We do substantial testing to validate our design or evaluate other potential solutions. Whether it is testing on the bench top, in the field with the end user, vetting first articles for production, or environmental testing—the Ravenswood Solutions team has done it.
Production & Deployment
Our product development team coordinates production runs of systems and components on small and large scales. The team takes prototype and engineering models from first articles through mass production. We create complete build documentation packages, including drawings, schematics, software installation files, and procedures. We are present through production, delivery, acceptance validation, and new equipment training.
Manufacturing
Ravenswood has a strategic partnership with GDM Electronic & Medical, LLC, an AS9100 registered contract manufacturing firm servicing the high-tech industry since 1983. Working with the San Jose manufacturer to innovate, incorporate new technologies, and manufacturer here, in the USA, Ravenswood mitigates risk to our customers and maintains the highest integrity of products.

System Configuration and Information Assurance
We work with our DoD partners using resources from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and industry to ensure that the MGTS continues to have a strong cybersecurity posture. This enables the MGTS to interface with other training and simulation systems without compromising the security of those systems.
Logistics Support and Product Life Cycle Management
We monitor the ongoing health and life cycle of our products, including continued design evaluation, maintenance schedule determination, failure rate tracking, and end-of-life status for product components. The result ensures product quality, availability, and up-time are at the highest standard.
Through careful planning and project staffing, we prevent problems before they occur. Our field-proven standard operating procedures guide equipment transport from depot to the field and back again. When the time comes to implement a hardware or software upgrade, we thoroughly test the new technology before release.
To the Field ×
We believe that by providing a turnkey logistics and technology package, we allow operators to focus on the mission at hand, optimize resources, and exploit opportunities. We assure all events occur on time, as planned, and are fully resourced.
Our Mobile Ground Truth System operates independently via user facilities, power, fuel, and networks. Our field-proven exercise control software suite, , can track up to 65,000 entities with unrivaled fidelity.
We have converted urban areas as small as 1 km x 1 km and barren terrain as large as 60 km x 100 km into ultra-realistic simulation environments that subject operators to the sights and sounds of natural disaster, security, or combat scenarios. Each event is tailored to the client's unique objectives. Our after-action reviews—complete with video, audio, and GPS-synchronized playback—have been hailed by users as an invaluable and irreplaceable learning and assessment tool.
