Alan Stewart

Alan Stewart is a Managing Director with RA Capital Advisors. Previously, Mr. Stewart served as the CFO and Chief Development Officer of Epsilon Systems Solutions for more than ten years. In this capacity, Mr. Stewart led the infrastructure development, financial affairs, and M&A activity of the company as it grew from approximately $40 million in revenues to over $130 million.

Over the last 20 years, Mr. Stewart has served as an executive, owner, and board member for companies ranging in size from start-up to $100M+ and in industries ranging from internet, real estate, technology, staffing, software, fitness and media to government contracting. Prior to his business career, Mr. Stewart served over ten years as a nuclear engineer in the United States Navy submarine force.

Mr. Stewart has a passion for entrepreneurship and is authoring a book on banking for the business owner. Additionally, he founded SmallBizTraining.com – an internet portal dedicated to helping Veterans become entrepreneurs.

Mr. Stewart was selected by the San Diego Business Journal as CFO of the Year in 2007 and again in 2013. Both awards were in the large private business category.
Mr. Stewart received his bachelor’s degree, with distinction, from the U.S. Naval Academy and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
